At Pilates By Jean in Ahwatukee, we have created a studio that ministers to every type of client. We offer group classes ranging from stretch to a faster paced cardio jumpboard. Clients who prefer a more individualized approach may choose to book a private or semi-private session.
Our PBJ Core Concepts class is perfect for the person who is brand new to Pilates, nursing an injury, rehabbing from an illness, or just wants a slower paced class. Focus is on form, alignment, and identifying your core muscles to help you master the Pilates Method. However, all fitness levels are welcome and modifications will be made to ensure each client is challenged.
Continue to build your practice with more complex movements and use of equipment. Start exploring more precise and dynamic exercises. Tempo is moderate and focuses on a steady class flow. Intermediate exercises and coordinated movements are introduced with progressions to give students a more challenging workout. All abilities are welcome and modifications will be made for each client as needed.
This class will fully challenge your body and mind. This moderate to fast paced class incorporates quick transitions and will introduce you to more advanced exercises and use of the reformer, tower, and chair. Increased repetition, complex coordination, balance, and resistance create a dynamic challenge that will take your Pilates practice to the next level. Before taking a PBJ Dynamics class, it is suggested that clients have prior Pilates experience and/or have taken a PBJ Flow class. However, all abilities are welcome and modifications will be made for each client as needed.
Jumpboard interval training is a high energy, low impact, cardio workout on the reformer. This class combines the benefits of traditional Pilates with cardio intervals on the Jumpboard. This class not only targets all the different leg muscles and abdominal muscles, but also increases spinal stability, arm and back strength, helps with bone density, and increases muscular endurance.
Your body will feel longer and leaner with apparatus-assisted stretching. PBJ Stretch involves light movement and deep stretching to leave you feeling loose, and ready to take on whatever life brings. A regular stretch routine will help reduce soreness and muscle fatigue, improve performance, decrease risk of injury, and increase blood flow to your muscles.
